Abstract: Electronic waste (e-waste) refers to discarded electronic devices such as computers,
televisions, and mobile phones, and is becoming a pressing environmental issue due to the rapid
advancement of technology. E-waste contains toxic materials such as lead, mercury, and cadmium, which can cause harm to human health and the environment if not disposed of properly. This problem is compounded by the informal and hazardous processing of e-waste in developing countries. A multifaceted approach is needed to mitigate the effects of e-waste, including enforcement of regulations by governments, responsibility taken by manufacturers through take-back programs and recycling services, and consumer support for environmentally friendly companies and practices. By promoting responsible e-waste disposal, we can reduce negative impacts and create a sustainable future.
